FSG Invests in Trackpaw to Modernise Preclinical Animal Monitoring

Lund, Sweden – August 18, 2025 – Fåhraeus Startup & Growth Fund II (FSG) today announces its investment in Trackpaw, a Swedish deep tech company digitising animal monitoring in preclinical drug research. FSG co-led a SEK 20m round with Industrifonden.

Founded in 2022 and based in Lund, Trackpaw Scientific has developed a groundbreaking SaaS and sensor-based platform that enables continuous, non-invasive monitoring of laboratory animals' weight, activity, and behavior within their home environment. This innovation enhances data quality, reduces animal stress, and aligns with the 3Rs principle (Replacement, Reduction, and Refinement) in animal research. The company has ongoing collaborations and paying beta-customers including AstraZeneca, Lundbeck and Truly Labs, with AstraZeneca and Lundbeck envisioning site-wide implementation of the system.

“Trackpaw has a potential first-mover advantage in a large and underserved market, improving both data quality and animal welfare in drug research. We are pleased to co-lead this round alongside Industrifonden and to support the team towards its next milestones,” said Alexander Jöndell, Partner at FSG.

The investment from FSG Fund II will support Trackpaw Scientific in scaling its operations, accelerating product development, and expanding its market presence. The company plans to conduct beta testing with leading pharmaceutical companies and contract research organizations, aiming for a broader market launch in the coming year.

“With FSG and Industrifonden behind us, we can accelerate development and roll-out of the system. Their combined support is a strong endorsement of our mission,” said Liza T. Albrektson, CEO of Trackpaw.
